Fees & Appointments

Appointments are for 50minutes duration

The number of appointments required varies for individuals. This can be discussed with the psychologist following assessment.

With a GP or Psychiatrist referral a rebate for approximately 70% of the session fee can be claimed through Medicare for up to 10 sessions. Rebates can also be obtained on most private health insurance (“extras”) policies. 

• Referrals from your GP or Psychiatrist are not essential and you are most welcome to self-refer.

• Evening appointments are available.

• First appointment can usually be scheduled within the first week of contact.

• First appointments or assessments may be extended sessions (e.g. 90-120 minutes long).

• If you would like to be referred now please either contact us on 0434 272 055 or ask your GP to fax a copy of your mental health plan to 03 9972 2606.

• All the information your GP needs to refer to PsychologyCare can be printed out here and given to the GP who will then send PsychologyCare a referral or give it to you to give to one of us.

Fees

• The Medicare rebate for Clinical Psychology services is $124.50 per session. Medicare will rebate 10 sessions of psychological therapy per calendar year. The rebate amount applies for each session.

• Our fee is $210 a session, so following rebate total cost to the individual would be $85.50 per session (for up to 10 sessions).

• In special circumstances fees are negotiable.
